Formal valuations or surveying services can be required at many stages before, during and after the ownership of a property. Prior to acquisition most purchasers and/or mortgagees will require at least a valuation and possibly a full survey of the property concerned to ensure that it is priced correctly and there are unlikely to be any unforeseen problems.
If the property is taken in the name of a trust or company it will need regular revaluations throughout the period of ownership. When it is later disposed of, another formal valuation might be required, especially if the transaction is not at arms length.
Our database of property transactions lists tens of thousands of property sales and lettings dating back more than twenty years and is invaluable when a backdated valuation is required.

One of our specialisations are valuations and negotiations for Capital Gains Tax Valuation and our team of Chartered Surveyors have many years of experience. We also keep records of transactions which occurred in 1982, which gives our opinion great weight when dealing with the District Valuers.
- Inheritance Tax Valuations (Probate Valuations)
Inheritance Tax Valuations are an integral part of our work and we write the Residential Property Chapter for Lexis/Nexis. Our Property Valuers have many years of experience in negotiating with the District Valuers.
- Reports for Charities
Our Chartered Surveyors in London and the Country can undertake valuations for Charities in accordance with the Charities Act (1993, as amended) prior to disposal or prior to acquisition.
- Acting as Expert Witnesses for Litigation
When there are disputes over property a qualified Chartered Surveyor will be needed to undertake a valuation to assess whether there has been any affect upon value. All our team are members of the Society of Expert Witnesses or the Expert Witness Institute and our reports are compliant with the Civil Procedure Rules.
