Among many of the popular cafes are Miss Ellie's on Pelham Street, Bluebird Cafe on King's Road and Cafe 19 on Harrington Road.

South Kensington is home to some of the most expensive homes in Britain. The area has a wide choice of beautiful homes on some of the most attractive residential streets and private roads in London.

The majority of properties in South Kensington date back to the Victorian era, when there was a boom in new developments, along with the Georgian period. The area is dominated by striking period buildings, including town houses, detached houses, period conversions and mansion blocks. But there are not many high-rise residential apartment buildings.

South Kensington has excellent public transport links, making it the easiest and affordable way to get around the area.

The local tube stations are South Kensington, served by the Circle, District and Piccadilly lines, and Sloane Square, served by the Circle and District lines. Both tube stations are located in Zone 1.

There are various bus routes running through South Kensington, including many 24-hour hour buses.
