A Potted History The elegant 19th Century Grade II listed frontage of this property forms part of the main historical waterside area of the village, now known as Marine Parade, and is such a recognisable part of the waterfront. Fountain House was previously three dwellings before our clients converted the property to one main residence. The main house had once been a shop, with flat above, for a large part of the last century. In the 1990's the property was extensively renovated to create a ground floor flat, known as Lower Fountain and two story maisonette above, known as Upper Fountain. Fountain Cottage was a new and separate property built in the rear courtyard at the same time. The cottage is now fully integrated with the main house via a hallway on the first floor, creating a light, space and versatile living space.

. 1 The renovation also created the opportunity to change three separate gardens into an extensive stone paved terraced garden at the rear. We often still refer to the main house and cottage when describing the layout and accommodation and it should be noted that the cottage could serve as a two bedroom annex to the main house, if desired.

Renovations The extensive improvements to the property have created a light and airy and classic timeless feel with quality finishes to every area of the house. Beautiful oak flooring features on the ground floor, main staircase and much of the cottage and the interior doors are also oak. All four luxurious bathrooms are equipped have excellent walk in showers, wash basins with vanity unit, travertine tiling and tall heated ladder rails. Rointe Kyros provide digital electric radiators with pre-programming for efficient heating throughout the property and wood burners in the living room and kitchen dining room add cosy warmth on cooler Cornish evenings.

. 2 The property is extremely well insulated with an EPC Rating of D and updated electric and plumbing, which takes care of all modern comforts. Practical considerations such as storage solutions, built in wardrobes, drying rooms and sailing kit stores along with clever garden design and access ensure this property is an easy to enjoy and manage throughout the seasons, whether as a permanent residence or home from home.
