New office open on Abbeville Road

We’re expanding our network in South West London by opening an office in Clapham, which will complement our well-established branches in Battersea and Wandsworth.

Having been part of the South West London community for decades and trusted for generations, we have made the move to open a new office in Abbeville Village.

The new office will occupy the corner position at 53 Abbeville Road, it will complement the well-established branches in Battersea and Wandsworth, in selling and letting property in South West London.

Plans to expand operations were initiated by the growth in demand to move out of central London. John D Wood & Co. has seen a 27%* increase in people looking to buy within reach of SW4, alongside a surge of interest from potential tenants seeking properties ranging from high specification one bedroom properties to large family homes.

Despite London rents dropping significantly during the pandemic, by July 2021 rents were only 1.2% down on the same month in 2019. Wandsworth and Lambeth Boroughs held strong with 3.7% and 2.7% increases in the past 12 months.**

Demand for family houses has been unprecedented. John D Wood & Co. landlords in South West areas such as Battersea and Wandsworth have achieved rents of up to 7.9%* over their initial asking price, with options of selecting tenants from highly competitive bids.

Post lockdown migration back to SW4 postcodes cement the area’s status as a prime choice for commuters anticipating the restart of commuting, as well as students moving in preparation for the academic year.

John D Wood & Co.’s latest expansion builds on the teams existing local knowledge and expertise, with the newest office now offering a physical presence in the area and will be led by Branch Manager Kesha Foss-Smith and Associate Director Shoeni Oates.
