Defining the decades: Queen Anne Era

Originating during Queen Anne’s reign (1702-1714) and revived in the 19th Century, for many, the Queen Anne style (1880 - 1910) typifies the architecture of the Victorian age – baroque by nature and yet simplistic in its asymmetrical facades.

The architectural style has a distinctive form making it relatively easy to identify with an abundance of decorative detail and ornate characteristics, large porches and richly patterned walls and fine brickwork.
